Privacy Policy
Effective July 28, 2026
AthleteFuel is a nutrition planner for parents of youth athletes. To build a plan we need some information about your child. This page says exactly what we collect, who can see it, and how to get it deleted — in plain language.
What we collect
From you, the parent:
- •Your email address, and a password you choose. Sign in with Google is optional; if you use it we receive your email address and nothing else.
- •Your city and state, only if you enter them, to suggest nearby stores.
About your athlete, because the plan is built around them:
- •Their first name — used to personalise the app. A nickname works just as well.
- •Their sport, and optionally a team name.
- •Tournament dates and game times you enter, so meals can be timed to kickoff.
- •Dietary restrictions and allergies, and any free-text note you add about foods they dislike.
- •Which meals and snacks you or they pick, so suggestions improve.
Automatically, as you use the app:
- •Which steps of setup you completed, and when you opened the app. This is stored in our own database with a random identifier — not a name or an email — and is linked to your account once you create one.
We do not collect payment details, phone numbers, home addresses, precise location, photographs, or health records.
Information about a child
Most of what AthleteFuel stores is about a minor — their name, their sport, what they can and cannot eat. We take that seriously, and we want to be straight with you about two things.
We do not ask your athlete's age. That means we cannot tell whether they are under 13, and we do not currently run a separate parental consent step for younger children the way COPPA contemplates.
We are telling you this rather than hiding it. If your athlete is under 13 and you would prefer we hold nothing about them, please don't sign up yet — or sign up and email us to delete the account at any time.
The account belongs to you, the parent. Your athlete can use the athlete view to pick their own snacks, but they cannot create an account, change settings, or see anything beyond their own plan.
We never show advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles of anyone — adult or child.
Who else can see it
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. A small number of companies process it on our behalf purely to make the app run:
- •Supabase — stores the database and handles sign-in.
- •Vercel — serves the website.
- •Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or session-recording tools. The usage data described above is stored in our own database, not sent to an outside analytics company.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
How long we keep it
For this beta, we keep your account and its data until you ask us to delete it, or until 12 months after your last sign-in — whichever comes first.
Getting your data, or deleting it
Email support@athletefuel.app and ask. We will send you a copy of what we hold, or delete it, within 30 days. You do not need to give a reason, and deleting is permanent.
There is no self-service delete button in the app yet. Until there is, email is the way, and we will honour it.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your information — for example under GDPR or the CCPA. Email us and we will act on any such request.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting providers, and each family can only read their own records. No system is perfect, and this is beta software built by a very small team — please weigh that when deciding what to share.
Changes
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
